Global demand for plywood is forecast to expand 2.8% p.a. between 2015 and 2019. Bolivia, China, Japan, the United States and Vietnam are considered the highest potential markets in the coming years.
According to recently published research conducted by a leading international market research company, Global Research & Data Services, the expansion of the global plywood industry is forecast to reach 2.8% p.a. in the coming years. Between 2008 and 2014 the market increased with an average annual growth of 10.9%. Currently, plywood (outerply of non-coniferous wood) accounts for 67.5% of the global demand while the remaining market share is divided between plywood ( outerply of non-coniferous wood) (15.0%) and other plywood (19.3%).
China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and the United States represent the largest plywood markets while the strongest annual growth is forecast to occur in Vietnam (9.7%), Bolivia (9.2%), Poland (8.1%), Ireland (5.7%) and Macedonia (5.2%).
