The expansion of the global table linen industry is forecast to reach 0.8% p.a. in the coming years. Between 2008 and 2014 the market increased with an average annual growth of 0.3%. Currently, crocheted or knitted table linen accounts for 2.8% of the global demand while the remaining market share is divided between table linen of cotton (44.2%), table linen of man-made fibres (44.8%) and table linen of other materials (8.2%).
China, France, Germany, Italy and the United States represent the largest table linen markets while the strongest annual growth is forecast to occur in Kyrgyzstan (9.0%), Jordan (7.9%), Macedonia (4.8%), Oman (4.0%) and Sudan (3.8%).
