“The expansion of the global air conditioner industry is forecast to reach 4.8% p.a. in the coming years. Between 2008 and 2014 the market increased with an average annual growth of 8.1%. Currently, self-contained wall and window type air conditioners account for 42.7% of the global demand while the remaining market share is divided between air conditioner parts (34.9%), other air conditioners with refrigerating unit (9.0%), other air conditioners with reverse cycle refrigeration (5.5%), other air conditioners without refrigerating unit (4.8%) and vehicle air conditioners (3.1%).
China, Italy, Japan, South Korea and the United States represent the largest air conditioner markets while the strongest annual growth is forecast to occur in Bolivia (11.8%), United States (11.7%), Morocco (10.6%), Ethiopia (9.3%) and Peru (8.9%).”
