“The expansion of the global glass packaging product industry is forecast to reach 2.4% p.a. in the coming years. Between 2008 and 2014 the market increased with an average annual growth of 4.7%. Currently, glass bottles account for 95.3% of the global demand while the remaining market share is divided between glass ampoules (2.6%) and glass stoppers and lids (2.0%).
China, France, Italy, Portugal and the United States represent the largest glass packaging product markets while the strongest annual growth is forecast to occur in Morocco (21.6%), Bolivia (16.1%), Bangladesh (11.2%), Cambodia (10.7%) and Rwanda (9.5%).”
