Value Of M&A Deals Increased In Q2 2015

M&As or corporate acquisitions in the power industry, registered a decrease of 15% in number and an increase of 111% in deal value with 60 deals worth US$32.3 billion in Q2 2015, as compared to 71 deals worth US$15.3 billion in Q1 2015. On year-on-year basis, M&As recorded a decrease in the number of deals and an increase in deal value in Q2 2015, as compared to 118 deals worth US$29.4 billion in Q2 2014.

The number of M&A deals was the highest in the wind energy with 22 deals in Q2 2015, followed by solar with 18 deals and hydro with eight deals. In deal value, wind energy segment reported the highest deal value of US$31.5 billion in Q2 2015, followed by hydro with US$1 billion during the same period.
