“In 2015, total 7 pesticide enterprises successfully entered the New Third Board in China. The New Third Board has a lower entry threshold, and less time and expenses during the listing process, becoming the best choice for pesticide enterprises to obtain new capital sources.

On 8 Jan., 2016, Hubei Sanonda released its 2015 preliminary earnings estimate, showing that the company suffered from dramatic declines in both its total revenue and net profit in the past 5 years for the first time. Its total revenue fell by 30.70%, and its net profit declined by 71 .47%.

On 15 Jan., 2016, CEFC International, a major pesticide company that dominates the agrochemical section of China’s stock market, released the news that CEFC Shanghai, its controlling shareholder, was preparing for a capital injection. After the capital injection, CEFC International will exit the agrochemical business in 2016. Also, CEFC Shanghai will use CEFC International’s listed status to undergo a backdoor listing.

In 2015, China’s pesticide industry remained in bad shape with slowly grew profit and increased number of enterprises at loss. Paraquat and glyphosate, two major products in the herbicide market were thwarted. Dicamba and glufosinate-ammonium became dark horses.

The sterilant herbicide market had major changes in 2015, which determines that the market will meet a renewal in 2016. Glyphosate and paraquat are facing the risk of being eliminated because of the stringent environmental regulations. Glufosinateammonium and diquat will have great development opportunities to expand and to fill the market share that the prohibition of paraquat AS will leave behind.

The rigid market demand will still support the development of China’s herbicide industry. Under the background of stagnant pesticide industry and depressed markets of all kinds of pesticide varieties, herbicide records a smallest YoY drop in both output and demand among all pesticides.

In 2015, China’s exports of acetochlor TC were greatly affected by the weakened market demand both at home and abroad. In Jan. – Oct., the export volume declined by 23.44% year on year.

The 2015 pesticide market was in bad shape in China. However, the export volume of metolachlor TC in Jan.-Oct. only recorded a YoY drop of 0.21 %.

China’s paraquat market still fails to perform well in Jan. 2016, being plagued by weak downstream purchase and further lowered operating rate. The market price of paraquat TK is estimated to drop in a short run.

15 herbicide TC products were newly registered in China in Dec. 2015, among which two TC herbicide products contain the active ingredient MCPA. There were 2 registrants obtained registrations greater than or equal to 2 respectively.
