The fly ash concrete has several attributes, such as high durability, superior strength, less permeability, and low cost. According to report, global Fly Ash Concrete is expected to grow at a CAGR 6.5% over 2016-2020.

Geographically, Asia Pacific is expecting to hold the position of global largest fly ash concrete market, the recent environmental measures adopted in most of the countries worldwide to reduce the fly ash emissions, by disposing it into waste landfills have boosted growth in the fly ash concrete market.

On the basis of classification, two classes of fly ash are defined by ASTM C618: Class F fly ash and Class C fly ash. The chief difference between these classes is the amount of calcium, silica, alumina, and iron content in the ash. The chemical properties of the fly ash are largely influenced by the chemical content of the coal burned (i.e., anthracite, bituminous, and lignite).

Fly ash, also known as “pulverised fuel ash” in the United Kingdom, is one of the coal combustion products, composed of the fine particles that are driven out of the boiler with the flue gases. Ash that falls in the bottom of the boiler is called bottom ash. In modern coal-fired power plants, fly ash is generally captured by electrostatic precipitators or other particle filtration equipment before the flue gases reach the chimneys.
