China’s Export Volume of Methomyl Technical was Down by 33.19% Year on Year

“Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) found that a neonicotinoid insecticide (imidacloprid) affects Asian honey bees (Apis cerana) to find flowers by olfactory organs, thus to reduce bee foraging. Also, it negatively affects colony health. This research found that imidacloprid industry is influenced as well.

There is widespread concern that the usage of carbofuran will be further forbidden or limited. On 2 July, 2015, the MOA made an announcement that it will solicit public opinions on the future of carbofuran, and produced a draft measure. It is estimated that the measures for forbidding or limiting the usage of carbofuran will be implemented officially in Aug. 2015.

At beginning of July, 2015, the MOA announced to take measures for forbidding or limiting the usage of 6 highly toxic pesticides. The MOA is eliminating and banning the existed highly toxic pesticides steps by steps, and pesticide enterprises should grasp the market share left by the eliminated highly toxic pesticides.

In recent years, corn pests present obvious changes due to the adjusting planting structure, innovating cultivation techniques and updating new varieties. Corn pests have become the major obstacle in the production of corn.

On 9 July, 2015, Huapont Nutrichem disclosed that its subsidiary Beijing Nutrichem is progressing steadily in the entry of New Third Board.

In the first four months of 2015, China’s export volume of methomyl technical was down by 33.19% year on year, while, the export volume of methomyl formulations was up significantly with a 20.47% year-on-year growth rate, according to China Customs and CCM.

According to data from the ICAMA, in June 2015, 13 insecticide TC and 1 acaricide TC were obtained formal registration in China. Imidacloprid TC was still the hot registration product in Chinese enterprises, whose valid registrations reached 74 by end of June 2015.

In H1 2015, altogether 66 insecticide TC (including acaricide and molluscicide) were registered in China, according to the ICAMA. There were 63 agricultural insecticide technical and 3 hygienic insecticide technical.

In H1 2015, altogether 451 agricultural insecticide formulations and 124 hygienic insecticide formulations (renewal of old registrations excluded) were registered in China, according to the ICAMA. Most of the 451 products are mainly high efficient, environmental and low toxic formulations.

In early July 2015, Fujian Crop Protection Station analyzed the occurrence of major pests/diseases of rice in the whole province and made prediction on the occurrence of major pests/diseases of rice in H2.

In order to ensure the further implementation of the Food Safety Law, at beginning of July, 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China (MOA) made an announcement that it intended to take measures for forbidding or limiting the usage of 6 highly toxic pesticides (methidathion, phorate, isofenphos-methyl, carbofuran, methyl bromide and chloropicrin included). Along with the application range of highly toxic pesticides narrowed, the enterprises’ capacities also decrease. Most of pesticide enterprises make the corresponding preparations in order to grasp the market share left by the eliminated highly toxic pesticides. The mentioned 6 pesticides have substitutes, so they will exert little impact on pesticide enterprises if the 6 highly toxic pesticides are forbidden or limited. 

The measures for forbidding or limiting the usage of 6 highly toxic pesticides will lead the way in the R&D of pesticides. Pesticide enterprises should make great efforts to R&D ideal substitutes with high efficiency, need to fully comprehend the market conditions, be familiar with governmental policy, to grasp the market share left by the eliminated highly toxic pesticides. 
The usage of chloropicrin (for registration) will be changed to soil fumigation, thanks to less residues and no water pollution. To effectively avoid the weakness of highly toxic pesticides and play their excellent efficacy is the useful way to be avoided banning.
