China Produce 78 Billion Pairs of One One-off Chopsticks in 2014

Chopsticks are shaped pairs of equal length sticks that have been used as the traditional ancient kitchen and eating utensils in virtually all of East Asia for over six thousand years.

In the 90s, China, Japan and South Korea are the largest production country, but with the scarce of forest resources, Japan and South Korea Stopped produce chopsticks. Now China continues to produce chopsticks and become the largest production country with a share of 90% and export country with a share of 70%.

In China, chopsticks include wooden chopsticks and bamboo chopsticks, wooden Chopsticks are mainly concentrated in northeast region of China, include Heilongjiang province, Inner Mongolia province and Jilin province; bamboo chopsticks materials is mainly concentrated in southwest region of China, but the production bases are concentrated in Zhejiang and Hunan provinces.

At current, China produce 78 Billion pairs of chopsticks, and about 70% is exported to the world, Japan and South Korea are the main import country. In a
survey, we found that the passing rate of China is 60% of one-off chopsticks
, so it have 40% of one-off Chopsticks are do not meet the industry standard.
This issue will be long plagued the industry.

In the future, chopsticks will not have a growth because people has been noted the importance of health.
